PERCEPTION

Lucy is a border collie who LOVES to play frisbee. Visualize that she is staring at a tree in the backyard. Her perception is that the red frisbee caught on a branch and she, in spite of leaping on her hind legs, cannot reach it. The truth is that the frisbee grazed the branch and fell on the ground. I called to her again and again to find it. She ran around in circles, even stepped on the frisbee, but in her mind, the red frisbee was hanging on a branch. What a lesson in perception. One I know well, for sure. Sometimes we cannot see for looking! The lesson of the day came through this happy dog whose intense focus on what she believed to be true disallowed her to entertain any other possibility. How much do we miss when we have locked in belief systems? How small the range of possibilities when our worldview becomes so singularly focused? What a great teaching through precious Lucy!
Wishing you well on this day of Beltane and the Full Flower Moon. If you wish, please join me tonight at 6:30 pm CDT for The Christine Center Full Moon Meditation. Here's the link:
May you be well and in good spirits!

Barb and Lucy
